I agree with you about how white people still view minority races particularly black people. For example, here in Dearborn, Michigan (I'm from Detroit, next door), up until the late 70s, Dearborn was segregated. There is a park, called Ford Track (like in Henry Ford Motor Co.) where black people could not enter to walk or run around the track. They called the police & chased us out of Dearborn. Michigan is still pretty much segregated. They put bad food and high prices in the poor neighborhoods.

Why do YOU need an apology?

It's funny how no one sees that Gates DID act out and brought it upon himself. If you are talking with an officer of the law, you must act in a respectful manner, not start ranting and screaming, and calling them a racist. Gates felt all high and mighty, and played the race card from the very beginning.

Stop whinning about the history and what happened years ago. Think about today and how our President needs your support to UNITE, and NOT DIVIDE! Gates messed up! Police have a job to do. I would never yell at a cop or call him names, because I would be arrested for disorderly conduct. Everyday they put their life on the line for public safety. They are trained professionals. They have a heavy cross to carry and some sacrifice their own life protecting the same that would tear them down.
