Michael Clayton (George Clooney) is an in-house "fixer" at one of the largest corporate law firms in New York. A former criminal prosecutor, Clayton takes care of Kenner, Bach & Ledeen's dirtiest work at the behest of the firm's co-founder Marty Bach (Sydney Pollack). Though burned out and hardly content with his job as a fixer, his divorce, a failed business venture and mounting debt have left Clayton inextricably tied to the firm. At U/North, meanwhile, the career of litigator Karen Crowder (Tilda Swinton) rests on the multi-million dollar settlement of a class action suit that Clayton's firm is leading to a seemingly successful conclusion. But when Kenner Bach's brilliant and guilt-ridden attorney Arthur Edens (Tom Wilkinson) sabotages the U/North case, Clayton faces the biggest challenge of his career and his life.

  • I noticed throughout the movie that the theme of 'miracles' gets brought up. Like when Michael's son claimed to have eaten waffles, and when Michael leaves Arthur a message "game over, I believe in miracles."

I noticed it like, the 5th time I watched it. Very subtle directing and screenplay, props to Gilroy.

  • @mavericksf16 I know! lol

  • @qhubbles If you applied to be a transcriptor you wouldn't get a license - sorry

  • @qhubbles That couldn't be further from what he actually said.

  • I don t get it . He s hinted at being an exceptional fixer . If you look at the deleted scene he mentions an arsony case that proves he's bloody good at it although they never explain how he does his magic . yet throughout the movie and especially in this scene he's somewhere between normal and plain blad . Change of heart ? it seems a bit weak as an explanation especially considering he's also bad at the beginning of the U/North case when dealing with karen .

  • @1214gaia lolololol u/north is exactly like monsanto

  • @sensfan22 -- Oh yeah, definitely. Anyone who knows anything about Monsanto knows they're the bad guys in this film.

  • Did anyone other then me know that this movie is actually based on Monsanto. I mean the events r fictional but this is exactly the kind of things Monsanto is involved in. Considering that Monsanto is rated the most unethical company in the world and just so happens to be an multinational agricultural biotechnology corporation that made seeds that caused cancer and poisoned water supplies

  • better than no country for old men, not saying that old men was bad but this is just a great movie

  • i'm sorry but dennis o'hare simply outshined clooney before this scene. u could really feel his frustration, helplessness and panic.
