the more and more i listen to them now, the more i think wow, axenrot is the perfect fit for opeth, dont get me wrong lopez was good, but axenrot is just pure beast, he's not all blast beats, this type of stuff is becoming more and more natural to him.. they really are unstoppable

@vidzrus I actually listen to Hendrix, even if i must admit i'm not a die hard fan
Could you precise a lil bit more in which song or part i can find this jam, i'm not really convinced up to now, thank you

omg... here he sings it much better than in the lamentations dvd!

@vidzrus I didn't watch it all the way through and I was curious lol.

Extended version period
i don't think Hendrix have influenced this section which appears in each live performance of this song, it's just a progressive psychedelic atmosphere with a little keyboard solo
anyway, nice vid with the furious ending (i've got red eyes because of spotlights...) and this mystical image of three tall men in the front, noble and eerie (especially akerfeldt and mendez), just what i love in opeth

@MattHellwing it's obvious you don't listen to Hendrix.
The jam part is taken from Jimi and also covered by Frank Marino & Mahogany Rush.
Not a bash on Mikael at all.
He smiled when I asked about the resemblance...He told me not many people notice.

If you knew who Hedrix was...You'd know there's the Hendrix jam in the middle of the song...
