I used to live just above that promanade and have never seen anything as bad as that. I used to play dodge the waves there but they were never that big.

What a great video. My mum lives in west monkseaton since 1983 and have been to Whitley Bay on holiday so many times since the 70's. Seen a few rough seas like this at Christmas time but fantastic you caught it on camera. Love the music as well. Thank you
