Beyond Reality - Top Chef NYC Recap - 2/04/09
Last week Jeff was sent home - Top 6
Quickfire challenge with guest judge Eric Ripert.
3 round fish fileting tournament. 1st round - Clean & butterfly 2 sardines. Jamie & Carla were eliminated. 2nd round - clean an Artic Char. Leah & Fabio were eliminated. 3rd round - Hosea vs Stefan - clean a freshly killed eel. Stefan wins an advantage (no immunity) Lunch at Le Bernardin for the chefs in the private dining room. Elimination challenge - they each must recreate one of the dishes at the luncheon. Stefan chose the lobster dish because he had the advantage from the quickfire. They drew knives for the remaining dishes. Carla - escolar, Hosea - monkfish, Leah - mahi mahi, Fabio - red snapper, Jamie - black bass. Eric came & critiqued the dishes before they actually had to serve them. Top - Stefan, Fabio & Carla. Stefan won & got Eric's new cookbook "On the Line" & an invitation to be his guest for a week then fly to the food & wine festival with him. Bottom - Hosea, Leah & Jamie. Jamie was eliminated. Next week - Fabio cuts himself.

can someone please tell me why people dont like stefan? he's a german for gods sake. thats how they are! it seems rude to us but its their culrure. they've made fun of this in SNL skits at least once. stefan has this but he is not mean at all. he is sweet.

carla did awful most of the season, pretty much why i think she really doesn't deserve to win. stefan and jamie did the best throughout the whole season, only reason why jamie didn't have as many wins is because they were stupid and gave the win to morons that already went home credit for her ideas. i liked fabio but to be honest he wasn't all that great. i'm hoping stefan wins the final because he deserves it.

Yeah leah is the worst and it pisses me off all the excuses and bs she's spitting out. There is no whining in the kitchen and there certainly is not shit food being ok in a real kitchen. She is not a real chef and it makes me embarrassed shes still representing women chefs on the show although I did hate jamie and her shitty attitude pretty bad so it was a toss up which one i wanted OFF.

I personally thought Carla shoulda won and Leah shoulda gone home this episode, and I am tired of Leah and her quitting on the quickfire was enough for me to want to kick her off right there and then.

i totally didnt think it was gonna be jamie. she was my top female pick and i thought that it would actually come down 2 her and stefan in the end

o well, hosea kinda getting on my nerves and i think carla should definitely be in the finale
