Jason Smith was a good leader for the team and he's a tough defenseman, but he's also a pylon and isn't what the Flyers need to get faster and more reliable on the blueline. In the first round against the caps, Smith was on ice for 14 of the 18 goals the Caps scored in the first 6 games...ouch! Seriously though, he gets caught out of position alot and he's 35 now. The Flyers are loaded with defensive prospects and will be better this year on the blue line with him and Hatcher gone.
