Trainers cause wheel misery

Dumfries resident Rob Gray sent us this video after the council refused to empty his wheelie bin this week because the lid was not fully down. The 39-year-old said the lid was raised up only a small fraction because of a pair of old trainers he had thrown away. The lid being open around half an inch meant it did not meet the council's new household waste collection rules which came into force last April.
