i used dogs for an example because of all the dog attacks that have killed children and some adults... i dont think anyone would die from an Opossum attack...

*sigh* Just need to rant. A few months ago, I left a comment on some video of some guy with a "pet" opposum. Recently they replied back saying they were qualified and stuff. It upset me. I didn't bother replying and don't know if I will because it's not worth it. Oppossums ARE wild animals, I don't understand people thinking they can be pets.

@Snoep76239 If I had to guess, it's mainly that their diets are highly varied. They can't eat pet food, for example. Most of their food is probably things like slugs, insects, some vegetable matter (don't quote me there), and who knows what else. But they can't have a limited diet by any means. Strange to see that they're so short lived, yet so specific in terms of diet, but that's how it is.

@Snoep76239 Yep, I've heard that confirmed many places. No argument here. I was simply commenting on the video itself - it didn't contain much useful information for people who like hard facts. It was basically, "Just trust us; they're bad pets."

This might be more helpful (and true to the title) if the video explained why opossums don't make good pets. It's not very informative as is.
