In 2000, ex-child star Maia Campbell gave birth to a beautiful baby girl, Elisha. Shortly thereafter, Maia stopped taking medication for her bipolar disorder and lost custody of Elisha. Now that Maia has been sober for two years, she hopes to eventually regain custody. First, however, Iyanla says, they need to mend their broken relationship. Watch as mother and daughter get honest with one another, and find out what they want each other to know most of all.

    Sweet little girl. Its nice to know she does not have ill feelings against her mom. Its also nice the father allowed the girl to see her mom.

    Bipolar medication males u practically emotionless so by everybody saying that she is cold its because of the medication bipolar disorder makes you have a roller coaster of emotions and when you start taking medication for it it practically stops your emotions so she doesn't love her child any less she just can't express it the way she wants to educate yourself before commenting

    I know exactly what you mean. My mom has schizophrenia and I've always tried to figure out why she always seems to so calm, quiet, and just not affectionate. I learned through research in current years that it's because of medications. The inward battle for balance with the medications just doesn't leave much of a person for interaction. It sucks but...it's better than her not taking medication.
