Iva Zanicchi's career began in 1962 at the Castrocaro Festival of New Voices, becoming third . She won the Sanremo song festival in 1967 with "Non pensare a me", in 1969 with "Zingara" and again in 1974 with "Ciao cara, come stai?". In 1969, she represented Italy in the Eurovision Song Contest in Madrid with Due Grosse Lacrime Bianche. She finished in 13th place. The competition was followed by a concert at the Paris Olympia and a tour in the United States, Canada, Southern America and the Soviet Union. She later also toured in Australia and Japan.

Italy had a very beautiful song and a gorgeous voice as well, very similar in talent with Frida`s. I am very surprised that Italy did not make it to tie with France and Spain instead of those horrid songs from GB (and their even more horrid singer Lulu) and from the netherlands (not as bad as Lulu but not all that good either)

Since I rooted for Frida, France should have come in first, Italy and Spain tied for 2nd. fridaforever!

For unknown reason, this song was missed by

the Juries in 1969 and even failed to get

major points. Despite of that fact, it is definitely the Best Song of 1969 and one of

the best ballads from Eurovision.

The message of the singer is very clear,

she is mending a broken heart from a

lover who left her with two big white tears.

But life must go on despite of the pains

she have because he has taught her to love...

I am surprised this song did not tie with Frida. Frida was the best that year but this song is about equal in perfection. Defiantly should have placed higher :/
