Hell Yeah! This was my favorite tune when it came out and definitely my favorite O'Bryan. A Don Cornelius discovery, brother man could jam and I understood that he played all the instruments and sang all the parts. Don't know what happened to him but this was the jam at party...for real. Helluva synthesizer solo by him on the break.

This brotha was badd as hell!! I still have this song on vinyl and every now and then, I pull out the turntable and bump this jam hard. And how many people used "You and I" in their weddings? Sheeiitt--even his theme song for Soul Train was FIYAH. I was a serious O'Bryan fan. I wish he was still around today so he could show these young cats how it's done!!!

@OldskolFan O'Bryan is still alive and is on facebook if you'd like to see for yourself. Search O'Bryan Burnette II

Is this guy still alive? I heard he died. He was messing around with a girl from my "high school" when this song was out! But then again a lot of girls from my HS were out with older guys.

@solesirching73 "Body Talk" by The Deele was done well after O'Bryan's "Im Freaky" Back then , all eyes were on O'Bryan as he was the new kid on the block making big noise on the streets. Even Michael Jackson payed close attention to this dude!

@defmaster88 So, that is why O'Bryan just kind of faded from the scene??? Back in 1986, I had the priviledge of meeting this brother and shaking his hand at the 1st Annual Soul Train Music Awards in Santa Monica, California. He appeared a little frustrated at the burgeoning music scene - do you know what I'm saying? I ALWAYS prefer music of the 50s, 60s, 70s ( some of it like Roberta Flack's "Killing Me Softly" and I love the Average White Band's "A Love of My Own " ) , 80s, and some 90s.

Body Talk..talk body to me.. Body Talk...OOPS!! Wrong song!! LOL

i was soooo in love with O'Bryan!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! His music is and was real. Put some head phones then play this again!!!
So sweet so young so sweet so young!!! The intro alone makes everyone get up!! Still can be played in the club today! Hell, most of the the oldies can!
I have to agree with obryanation! O'Bryan was tired of the politics. Capitol/EMI wasn't exactly interested in FULLY catering to it's black artists....
