@SuperAntiZionist People don't pick a 1000+ page book as the only book they bother to read... As someone who only reads a couple books a year (not counting schooling), I don't pick up a 1000 page book unless the font is huge.

I have read Atlas Shrugged four times either physically or by listening to the audiobook. It's one of the few books that actually gets worse the more you read it.
Of course, a lot of this has to do with age. When I read it the first time I was a teenager. Teenagers love any philosophy that supports their selfishness and narcissism. I used to read Nietzsche then too. Teens are naturally Objectivists.
With adulthood came the understanding of what community was and the interdependance of people.

I personally don't want a world full of people that don't care about anything but themselves and there own kind{the rich},that to me is a very narrow minded way to live.This world doesn't belong to the the elite just because they have gained the system better than most everyone else.Yet the "top 1%" have more money combined than all the rest of the people in this country combined.I have nothing against wealthy people,but this"me"attitude bothers me.There is more than enough to go around.

Ayn Rand was a psychopath.
Plus Atlas Shrugged is not even a good book, insidiously boring and with the character of a standard table spoon. It didn't even make the ABC top 1001 books of all time, and for good reason!
Most people are devoted to it because it's the only book they've bothered to bloody well read in their sad lives.

@lenetownsoldier1 Very lame

People need to stop reading so much and start thinking about things. I swear people are starting to sound brain washed.

Interesting... I re-read parts of Atlas Shrugged and not as much The Fountainhead.

I dont know if its being suppressed, but most certainly a lot of breakthrough technology is being withheld from "the market"

I have a terrible attention span. but i successfully gave 100% of it, to the book...and the audiobook, and i could not make it past page 150, and CD5. the dialog made me want to rip the hair out of my head. so im here on youtube trying to get the gist of the book. thanks, you helped.
Ahhhhh Americans today, you make me disgusted to call myself american u neosocialist. Why don't you read a little about where Ayn Rand got her philosophy and then look at the history of our country and if you don't see the trend in what made this country great then do us all a favor an jump off a cliff.

@ptfountainhead
Typical youube comment. 100% vague negativity with no solid content. You convey nothing of value and manage to irritate everyone. Congratulations!
If you have a specific point to make why not just make it? People can't read your mind.

Mr. Dashxdr,
wondering if you have seen Ayn's interview (available on youtube) when she was on Phil Donahue many years ago?? Very interesting.
