I get what you're saying but remember that Britain elects a party not a person. In the greater context both Liberal and Tory parties were poor in the 20's & 30's. The Liberals had seen that soldiers from WWI didn't return to "a land fit for heros" whilst the Tories presided over the great depression and appeasement (or their front bench did). Labour also made clear distinctions between Churchill and his party. The people turned on the Tories rather than Churchill

  • I've always wondered how the British public could have voted him out after all this man had done for them.

  • @deschloro it wasnt the choice of words i would of used but on a metaphorical sense he was suggesting socialism as a totallitarian regime, not to nazi extremes but more in the sense that they try to interfere in all our lives

I rather think many people felt betrayed by the fact he had labelled them "Gestapo" when they were nothing of the sort.

  • Heck New Zealand (and Austrailer) were welfair states that had a system of the sort Attlee wanted and we never had any problems, we were (and still are) one of the freeist countrys in the world. The system is a little stale now.

  • Have any of these critics of England worked there? I'm a fan of Churchill and Attlee, he in reality was the manager and it was the team that made it work. In reality what the British people voted for was Churchill as Prime Minister with a liberal cabinet and Parliament. The liberal party just knew Winston never followed a party line, Tory or Liberal, so it was party politics that moved Churchill out. Few realize the two men were complimentary bookends. Accuracy of this docudrama excels.

  • @Ranillon ok i think you should calm down before you rupture a vessel

  • @joyandian You had to watch the WHOLE thing to figure out it was "boring"? This is part 9. If you truly hated it I would think boredom couldn't had been prevented for longer than part 3.

Point is, it's hard to accept you find it so "boring" when you went to the trouble of watching the whole thing. You remind me of people who post just to complain and will do so no matter how good or bad the movie really is.

  • @Ranillon because i thought it would be good

  • @joyandian Then why did you watch it?
