  • can you use a monopod instead of a tripod as i do lots of sports photography for my high school

  • @rhyskallen, sure you can use a monopod - they give you more flexibility than a traditional tripod, but that comes at the expense of stability. With a fast enough shutter speed, however, this should not be a problem. On the other hand, with the extremely long focal lengths of a digiscoping setup (or if you are doing video), a tripod and a good tripod head may be really important because you really want that extra stability.   • sorry, audio is a pain

  • @Kaktus8551, sorry, the wind was blowing, the sea was crashing and I had to just use the microphone on the camera. Unfortunately, once the sound is recorded badly, it stays that way. I have subsequently tried to make sure the sound is better.

  • what type and model of head do you have on your tripod? i have a jobu and might need a newer head. can you advise?
