July 14th is Bastille Day in France! The celebrate with a huge parade on the champs and finish off with some fireworks at the Eiffel Tower!

Truly one of the most beautiful things I've seen all year in an already gorgeous city! A great finish to a wonderful year!
Je t'aime Paris!

Songs during the fireworks:
"Emmenez moi" by Charles Aznavour
"Les ailes d'un ange" by Robert Charlebois
"La Valse A Mille Temps" by Brell Jacques
"C'est beau la vie" by Jean Ferrat

  • I remember the day before, it was super super hot! and when i went out to the parade, i went out thinking, oh ill just wear some sorts and sandals. next thing you know... it started pouring, i felt i was in the shower!

  • @jaybee2425460 I know what you mean- It was really hot for a week leading up to Bastille day and the rain just happened to arrive on the 14th. The fireworks were beautiful though! Well worth the wait and getting caught in the rain!

  • what are the names of those songs? (during the fireworks)

  • @waiheeky07 the songs are

    "Emmenez moi" by Charles Aznavour

"Les ailes d'un ange" by Robert Charlebois, then there is a song by Celine Dion and someone else (not sure that song).

La Valse A Mille Temps by Brell Jacques

C'est beau la vie by Jean Ferrat

  • Thank you for the song list! I've been looking for it for over a year!! I was in Paris with my parents for Bastille Day 2010. I couldn't see anything except the feathers on the caps of the soldiers on horses--I'm too short! But we did see the fireworks. They were absolutely incredible!

  • I was studying in Paris around this time, so I had the chance to see it for myself. I think those fireworks were one of the most pretty things I've ever seen. I LOVED it..-getting back by metro afterwards, not so much ;)

  • ps sorry for all the comments... =-/

  • @Filmmaker1976 hahah me too!!! lol oh how i miss paris!! i miss my parisian apartment, i miss the metro, i miss how everything was in french, i miss the food, the crepes, how nice people were to me. i loved how when you thought it was over, it only got better and better! and we were pretty close to it.

  • and the fireworks were AMAZING!!!!! best thing ever! my friends and i had been there since 8pm until like 11. but the wait was so worth it!!! oh i just wanna go back to paris again! i miss it a lot.

  • OMG i was there when this happened! i lived in paris for a month, and i saw the planes from my apartment when i was leaving. I lived between avenue victor hugo and rue de la pompe right off champs elysees. anywho.... i got soaked. and got sick... =-/

  • @tanyarm ive been searching like crazy for the name of these songs THANK YOU!

  • I was there, it was a rainy day but the fireworks show was by far the best I've seen in my life. It was so good myself and my fiance said we plan to go back to Paris every year for Bastille Day
