:P Sorry about that! I didn't have the time or patience to re-shoot this video.

"Unwind" by Neal Shusterman

__________________________________________

Synopsis:
In a society where unwanted teens are salvaged for their body parts, three runaways fight the system that would "unwind" them. Connor's parents want to be rid of him because he's a troublemaker. Risa has no parents and is being unwound to cut orphanage costs. Lev's unwinding has been planned since his birth, as part of his family's strict religion. Brought together by chance, and kept together by desperation, these three unlikely companions make a harrowing cross-country journey, knowing their lives hang in the balance. If they can survive until their eighteenth birthday, they can't be harmed -- but when every piece of them, from their hands to their hearts, are wanted by a world gone mad, eighteen seems far, far away.

Hope you pick it up! I *REALLY* wanted to get the word out about this book! The instant I finished, all I wanted to do was recommend it to others and spread it around. :P Enjoy!

This was an amazing read! Beautifully written, I blazed through in about 10 hours and could barely detach myself for a second. The characters are very real and although the premise seems far-fetched, the book comes together nicely from beginning to end. The characters and situations were surprisingly relatable and you can easily find yourself caught up in their world.

The story follows three main characters (Connor, Risa, and Lev) and is written in third-person omniscient yet alternates the general point of view among the characters from chapter to chapter. They're intelligent, down-to-earth, and easy to connect with—a refreshing change of pace from the last few books I've read. Their collective goal becomes survival until the age of 18 when they find out the news of their unwinding. This book had great pacing and interesting plot twists. I found that the book was really more about the characters and how they adapt and grow as people than simply focusing on the state of the society in which they live, like some dystopians I've read in the past. Rather than overemphasizing and overexplaining their world, there's a great balance between what needs and doesn't need to be said.

Who knows if any of my subscribers read along the same lines that I do (get on my level!), but I'd recommend this book for anyone that enjoys dystopian novels or if you're just looking for an interesting premise.
