@Retrobowler I learned someting I dont know if you have ever bowled in the east coast I used to bowl in a league there if it snow then oviously the oil on the lane woud be more slick and hard to break down when the humidity comes during the summer the wood will expand any questions feel free
-
@MikeHL78 no problem
-
@Retrobowler cool, thanks :)
-
@MikeHL78 For example from what I have heard it depends on the age and tear on the lane for example if its a old sythetic it would dry faster but if it was a modern then the oil woud be more flat and more difficult for bowlers too hook the ball
-
Bo mentions at 3:40 that synthetic surfaces back then had about 1/3rd as much oil as wood lanes. I just started bowling tenpin a few months ago and I bowl league in one synthetic house and one wood house.
(Wolfman, you might like to know I'm also a MA native, bowled candlepin from 1984 to '99 and was fortunate enough to win my share of honors.)
Is that oil volume still the case today? Anyone know? Thanks
