For a complete systematic course leading to the lotus posture please click here http://www.merkurpublishing.com/new_titles.htm#lotus .

In every school of Meditation the Lotus posture is held to be the ideal
seated position. Depicted in the earliest texts of the spiritual
traditions of Japan, China and India and even on the tombs walls of Ancient
Egypt. The Lotus posture offers a pathway to inner tranquillity and self
knowledge for those with the will to find it.

The problem with the lotus posture is that if incorrectly performed it can cause permanent damage to the knees.

This video teaches the principles of the easy, safe and comfortable adoption of the Lotus posture.

  • What's the advantage of sitting in that unnatural position, instead of just, say, the burmese position?

  • Great video, really helped me in my Yoga practice!

  • I have been doing Yoga a few months, and have recently managed to get myself into the lotus position. However, I can only remain in this position for about 3 minutes. I have probably been forcing myself too much, which isn't a good thing. But I am now going to try using the hip exercises which I am sure will help me .

    Excellent video. Thanks

  • @MartinJFaulks No, not yet, I'll be sure to check it out. =)

  • @Disposition446 Yes do be careful. You may wan't to get the book before you start
