  • HI, Shawn

I have been watching your video's for over two years now. I wanted to thank you for all your instruction. Recently I have been practicing with carpet sample.I set two of them on the floor one on top of the other. The one on top is just hanging over the edge I swing to it and pick it up and try to toss it across the room. My rhythm and temp has improved greatly I had my first birdie second ,and third on a round of golf yesterday. As well I had seven pars,

    Thanks

    Matt

  • @rockthekasbox Right on Matt! Thanks for the great comment! Shawn

  • Hi Shawn, many years ago, while watching Gene Littler on the practice range, I noticed that he started the motion in his swing this way. It was a bit more subtle, but essentially the same motion. It's a great tempo builder!

  • Cool! I saw some footage of Billy Casper and he does it as well! Thank you for that! Shawn

  • how much wieght should be on right heel at top off backswing 70 per cent ?

  • Sorry I missed your video dano11000; the best video to answer this question is the "golf pro lesson downswing weightshift" video; you will know what I mean when you see it; you are almost correct as 70% of your weight does get through the right side but the top of the backswing needs to be defined for you; Shawn

  • Using your method and saying step hinge, step unhinge and my slice is gone. Also, first tee jitters are gone because now I have something to think about and move myself when nervous. Thanks.

  • Some of the best golf tips on the internet Shawn! From Ottawa will have to make it down to Toronto for a lesson :)

  • Great tip! This a move which promotes a rhythmical takeaway and swing. Sam Snead, Harvey Penick and many classical golfers used the "forward press" to start rhythmically their swings. This move has the same objective as the forward press.

  • Hi Shawn

This is a great tip, thanks.

It tried it out at the range today, and felt it definitely helped with my rhythm, and making a fuller backswing than i ordinarily would.

If you (or anyone else) has time i'd really appreciate some feedback on my video from range today.

    Thanks!
