Video shows pure Jatropha oil at 0degrees centrigrade, followed by EN14214 compliant B100 biodiesel. Gelling is clearly visable. Finally shot is of Jatropha + Regenatec additives showing no gelling and suitable flow rates for Regenatec converted diesel engines.

  • Conventional fossil fuels (and to some extent pure plant oils such as Jatropha) actually require a complex coctail of additives to acheive good all round performance. Whilst it's certainly true that less cold flow enhancers are required in warmer countries, greater use of chemicals such as biocides are required to stop biological attack in hot and humid climates. In reality, there's no such thing as a 'standard' fuel: all are specific for a country's climate and base oil used.

  • Well if your in a third world country in the tropics, I guess you wont have a problem with solids, for those in colder regions, I'm glad they are doing work to solve this problem.
