Why Do I Ride Words By Gina Levesque & Robert B. Barron Music by Robert Barron Copyright 2010 by BearRon / Levesque. - The song is based on "I Ride" by Salt Lake's Gina Levesque. Video by BearRon. I think I found some great pics. Thanks
I Ride is Gina's true story. Gina broke her collar bone the horse she was riding fell on her. Gina somehow found the courage to get out off the trail, guide her horse into her trailer and drive home. Today she still rides and will continue to do so for years to come.
I have always love taking photos of horses. I am a big fan of Wildfire by Michael Martin Murphy and Willie Nelson's Midnight Rider. When Redford's Electric Horseman came out I decided I would write a song about a horse someday. When I read Gina's "I Ride", I knew it was time. I did change up her pome quite a bit, and even added a few new lines, with her permission.
I tried to give the feel of a herd of horses galloping down a street, somewhat like the clip at the very end.
I am not a great singer or guitar player, but I love the story and hope you will as well.
