@MrPavePaws What are you talking about? They simply havent seen any before. I remember this gymnast that won several state championships but he got nervous on elevators, even though he did all those stunts since he was 5, simply because city doesnt have elevators. Its not about common sense or accents. Most people from wherever you are have doubts about riding motorcycles or cablecars or horses or planes, when they have never been on one before. Its common in all humanity.
