Barack Obama vs. Hillary Clinton - with music by The Hooters, "Fighting On The Same Side" from the CD, 'Amore'. They are an independent label band, so the only way to buy 'Amore' is through their web site http://www.hootersmusic.com/
Just click on store and then the album 'Amore'. There's a choice between cd and lp. It's only $12 too, and worth every dollar from start to finish. I highly recommend this album. It's one of the best that came out of the early 1980's that most people, except those of us who grew up in Philadelphia, know about. It's definitely a hidden treasure in Rock-n-Roll.

Obama visited my town of Bloomington, Indiana today, April 11th 2008. He made a surprise visit stopping by the Little 500 Race and over to Nick's English Pub.

  • Well, this is one of the first versions. Much better than their later 'One Way Home' trashing of it. The original one was around '81. I first heard it on WMMR and was what first turned me on to the Hooters. That and the epic live 'All You Zombies' single, from the 23 East I think.

  • Actually, the original was a 45 from 1980 or 1981, long before Amore.

  • it most definitely is.

they revamped, slowed down and re-released the tune on their One Way Home (1987).

    this is from Amore (1983)

  • that's not the original version!!!

  • What's The Hooters' new cd called? I'll have to pick it up. I've been away from Philly for awhile. Need to look this up online.

  • Ha! Good one. Yeah, I haven't listened to The Hoopters for years. They played my high school back in '84. I bought their Amore record back then and saw them several times at the Tower Theatre. They were really fun in concert. I'm just getting back into them again.

  • Great song from a great Philly, PA band. I hear they have a new tune called "I'm Alive" out now. Maybe Hillary ought to be using that one.

  • . Obama has shown that he is the only one in this race who gets it. He speaks the truth. He will get my vote.
