False alert management on radar detectors

Its kinda hard to test a radar with other units operating beside it. ALL heterodyne receivers which include most radars and FM radios use and extremely low power oscillator inside to compare received frequencies against and determine the incoming frequency and determine if it is inside the Radar band or not. This oscillator often emits enough power to set off other radar detectors in a near vicinity, I'm not talking inches, but feet. when you pass someone else with radar ever notice it go off?

Running a cheap/ low quality RD against a higher quality model ie. Cobra and V1 will cause falsing on the V1. IN this case it is the STi and the V1 which are both high quality and should not interfere with each other no more than a GPS system would.
It's pretty obvious here the Pro78 has K ban turned off

read my reply again "there are countless variables" which I'm not going to even try to stuff into 500 characters.

i meant you wouldnt use the V1 or Pro 78 cause they would be detected by spectre.
The pro 78 is my mates I dont own one, and it does pick up multanovas. He picked up one today on the freeway and he said it was a decent warning.
So there's no reason why then. Ok no reason, very well

Try telling that to all the people using them on the east cost - or any other place where k-band is still prolific!
The PRO78 or your PRO78? there are countless variables - possibly same reasons its not picking up multanovas. False alert surpression can not possibly be sure fire - you will still get some false alerts. if you want a k-band detector with no filtering, I can supply, but I don't understand why you want to detect automatic dors, when you just said you'd turn off k-band anyway?
-
well if you were on the east cost you wouldnt use any of them anyway!??
can you please explain to me why the pro78 doesnt pick up a remote door sensor from the street (sometimes), but when you go closer to it, it picks up k' :)

just about every detector allows select bands to be off. however, as the title of this video suggests, its a demonstration of false alert management. turnig off a band cause there are too many false alerts is somewhat self defeating, also then clearly patrol and unmarked cars aren't detected, and if you are on the east cost, the majority of photo cameras aren't detected either - being k-band.

False alerts shouldnt make a diff if you know how to use a RD properly anyways mate, my mate got done by a highway patrol because he assumed a false alert with his pro 78 rev c, he was in a suburban area the fool. he got clocked doing 20km over - $300
Running different radar detectors at the same time will cause false alerts, Local oscillator leakage is to blame. running them at the same time will also cause a reduction in sensitivity.

yes, we all know this. but for the purpose of THIS test it proves a point. running these particular detectors side by side does not seem to generate any false alerts, and even if it wwas to, then its even better to show how they are handled or ignored. If sensitivity is reduced, then less false alerts would be expected, also enhancing the results of this test. False alerts from other detectors are still false alerts. running them all separately at the same location showed the same results.
