Hymn Time # 197 with Arvin Wynn The Chuck Wagon Gang sing for you two more classic songs from a early tv show . The gang was formed by the founding member D.P.(Dad) Carter in 1936.The members that I know here on this rare tape are Roy Carter -bass,Rose Carter Karnes soprano, Anna Gordon Davis ,alto and Howard Gordon on the guitar...The young guy is Jim Wesson .This was a tape given to me by a true fan (like me) of The Chuck Wagon Gang and has been lost for over twenty years behind a book case. The joy this brings back to me as it was the only footage I ever had of the older gang singing.I share this with you and hope that it will also bring you a blessing.I have seen several dvd 's that you can buy of the older gang on christianbook.com older tapes than the one I have posted all in black and white please check them out.

"He Set Me Free" was written bt Albert E. Brumley. Hank Williams acknowledged that he wrote "I Saw the Light" off of "He Set Me Free."

Yes indeed, it is Jim Wesson. I am blessed to have him as my close neighbor as well as close friend. Rumor has it that he and another past member of the Chuckwagon Gang are starting a new gospel group, and on the first tour, they will be doing a tribute to the Chuckwagon Gang. I think that would be awesome!
