You should never apply the neutraliser over the top of the perm lotion they react! The perm lotion has thio in it and the neutraliser peroxide - together they will destroy the structure of the hair.
Instead (with braids) you need no neautraliser. Simply braid the hair, apply the perm lotion (leave for however long it says) rinse and let the braids dry out over 2 days. The oxygen will neutralise the hair and create a permanent well conditioned result.
