This music is from Southern senegal , CASAMANCE, and the group i based in Sedhiou , the leader dandan was a member of the former UCAS de SEDHIOU.
The song Saaro , is a local song sung during the jomboyo day , the beats are called Jambadong , which marks the end of initiation of young men.Every generation does it , and after 3 month in the bush , these songs are perfomed for the New men!
The song is in Mandinka , an ethnic group that is located in Southern senegal , Casamance and Tamabacounda , and also in the Gambia and a part of Guiné Bisseau.Mandinka is the same as Malinke in guiné Conakry , Bambara in Mali , etc thats why they all share the same instrument such as Kora , Djembe , and many other instruments.
Enjoy
