This is a performance of Sergei Rachmaninoff's Prelude In G Minor, Op. 23 No. 5. Played on an incredible Schimmel Konzert 9'2" Grand Piano. Filmed for my scholarship application to the Berklee Five Week Summer Performance Program.

  • Nice, for a while I was allowed to practice on that same piano everyday at Richmond Piano. It's almost too powerful for me though, rather intimidating to really pound it sometimes.

  • @budzillab Man I love that piano. Personally I think it's the best acoustic piano I've played. It's got a great action on the keys as well.

  • nice, didyou make it?

  • Thanks! I did get accepted into the program, though scholarship decisions aren't released until April. So I'm still hoping to get some funds so I can rock out this summer!

  • watch out for your wrists man.. pain or stress is NEVER good while playing the piano. take a look at google HealthyHands.html

  • P.S! I like to put a little more force into it like Emil Gilels.

  • I enjoyed your performance of this piece! I'm learning it myself! Although I can't read sheet music but I'm doine fine =) I've reached (going by your video of course) 0:55 and it's a right wrist killer if you play at the original tempo.
