Even I understood this: he taxes you much less when your income is below 250k a year, and 3 percent more when you're doing well. It helps you get on the ladder easier. Can't see the problem, if I had over a quarter of a million a year coming in, I'd be more than satiisfied and just fine with 3 percent extra tax, especially if I got there because of the tax cuts when I started out.

@DisneyGator Well when you cut taxes and put 2 wars on a national credit cards and don't generate enough revenue you do get a deficit. Now i'm not making this up or trying to condescend to you in any way but Obama had the deficit because he put the 2 wars on the books where as G.W.Bush put them on national credit cards which has effectively cost more because of interest on borrowed money. And btw cutting taxes and going to war has never happened before in the history of mankind before G.W.Bush.

@pezz12345 You need to get your facts straight, cuz they're all wrong. Blaming W for high national debt? Have you seen the debt Obama is collecting? And all for nothing. Let me guess - it's W's fault. It's the republican's in congress' fault (though the Dems had control for two years). Instead of tax hikes, maybe we should cut medicaid, welfare, "stress" disability payments, and everything else that doesn't really contribute to society.

@DisneyGator One time? Every time. Republican instigated tax cuts for the very wealthy cost the treasury $11.6 million every hour. A serious amount of money when the working people are being made to tighten their belts to pay back what "W" bailed the bankers out with. That doesn't even take corporate tax dodging and squirreling of money into offshore accounts into the equation.

@ToffClobberer Everytime? Name one time. Maybe when W gave the Rich a tax break? Oh, wait the middle class went from 25% to 15% and the poor now pay nothing thanks to W. Last time I checked, it was Clinton and Carter that raised taxes on the middle and upper class. Don't need more of that.

@DisneyGator Can't get how some people complain about taxation over there in the USA, where it's things they shouldn't really be sore about. A war costing millions a day is fine and dandy, corporate tax dodging is fine. In the UK, we don't have this resentment of paying tax for the wider good of our society, we love our free health service and the only people who whine about it are those with way too much money they never earned anyway, so we don't pay that much attention to them.

Obama wants to raise taxes on ALL of us. He has to start with the rich to make us all feel better about it. I'd be ok if my taxes went to things that benefit my and my family - not welfare and medicaid.
