Squirrels had eaten this customers lead plumbing vent flashing leaving a hole in the flashing which allowed rain water to enter the homeowners house. This is common in areas where there are a lot of squirrels around and trees close to the house allowing them access to the roof. If you live in area like this chances are your lead pipe flashings have been eaten by squirrels and you may not even know it. Squirrels seem to love to eat the lead pipe flashings.

We shop fabricate, solder, and install custom made copper pipe flashings to fit your roofs pipes and pitch. The squirrels will not eat copper. The copper pipe flashings may be a little more expensive but it is an investment that will last the lifetime of your roof. Otherwise you may be doing the same repair every 2-3 years.
