Righteous Brothers - Unchained Melody (Original Stereo)

Originally released in the summer of 1965 as the B-Side to "Hung On You", Bobby Hatfield's solo on "Unchained Melody" ultimately became the A-Side and it went to #4 in July of that year. The song itself was composed by Alex North and Hy Zaret as a theme to a 1955 prison film called "Unchained", and soon after the film's release, both Lex Baxter and Al Hibbler had versions that topped the charts. "Unchained Melody" became one of the most recorded songs of the 20th Century, and the Righteous Brothers recording of it got a second life in 1990 when featured in the film "Ghost". This recording remains one of the most powerful vocals in pop music history.
