This is the best tape quality that I've seen of this race. Any chance of uploading all of it?

@PanoramaVideo360 Cool. How many 500's did you work?

@altfactor I agree completely.

A.J. Foyt, in my opinion, is the greatest race car drievr who ever lived.

Back then, race fans had to wait until that evening to watch and edited (down to two hours) version of the race on ABC-TV.
BTW, The commentary of Jim McKay and Jackie Stewart during the start, first few laps, final few laps, and finish of the race were recorded as they took place. Their commentary for the middle of the race was recorded while they were watching the taped and edited action on TV monitors at the same time viewers at home saw it.

I was aroun when A.J. Foyt first started to race Indy Cars. Then, it got to where he was winning a lot. I sort of became an anti-A.J. Foyt fan. Then, when his driving career was winding down, I became an avid A.J. Foyt fan. Why not? He was the world's greatest driver.

I was the cameraman in at the first turn when Gordon's engine blew. My spotter hit me in the shoulder which is why the camera moves violently. I kicked him in the chest and told him to get off my platform. I memorized AJ's position which is why I zoomed out slightly to show him passing Gordon. Then I watched Gordon go for the water and zoomed out from AJ and zoomed into Gordon. It was the highlight of my camera career. My name at the time was Willie Hubert. I then zoomed out t the crowd
