Interesting - All five of those trains had F40PH engines. Not one of them had a GP40MC engine. It's also interesting to note that on the North Side, along with the GP40MC's, you'll only see the original F40PH's, not the newer (re-build) ones. Those are only used on the South Side. Do you have any idea why that is?
I suspect it may be due to the fact that the North Side has much less ridership than the South Side, so it gets the old and crummy equipment. Next time I talk with a conductor on the North Side, I'll ask him.

I know that the Framingham line has some of the nice new double deckers. I guess that line is pretty heavely traveled.
