From http://www.kevincaron.com - Artist Kevin Caron shows one of the tools he uses for grinding metal in tight spots, a pencil grinder. He shows bits and mill ends that can be used, explains the exhaust and discusses RPMs of this slender, air-powered tool. See more how to videos at http://www.kevincaron.com

  • We carpenters call that a Roto-Zip tool! Sheetrock hangers have used them for years and years to make the cutouts in drywall for electrical boxes. Makes sense there would be a version to cut metal.

  • @AsktheBuilder Welcome AsktheBuilder to my channel!!!

I got yell at once for playing with a rotozip once. Had a little pipe noise in the wall and wanted to see if something was loose. Took a half sheet of rock to fix the "inspection hole". Ok, maybe some tools are better left to the pros!!

  • I prefer the pencil grinder to a Dremel. Dremels are too overpowered. If it snags, the bit jerks or breaks. With a pencil grinder, the bit just slows down or stops.

  • @googacct Good point!! Air tool torque versus electric motor torque.. very different from one to the other.

    Thanks for posting...

  • Wow, absolutely amazing you did all that with the mill. Im quite jealous and my interests are piqued now. Please show the finished product when you have completed it please

  • @2007markb You can check out all my work on my site. Every piece I do has it's own page with photos.

This piece is hopefully going to be ready for a show next month.
