@AntiFascist2011 Aye, it was Christians (the Founders were mostly deists, the states themselves demanded the Bill of Rights) that put in place the separation of church and state.
Also little known, or little thought about, is that the Founders peacefully overthrew the previous government, because they felt the Articles of Confederation had failed the country.

@PostPetroleumPrepper What about it?

"Give our greedy selfish preaching asses 25$, thank you." Martin Sheen

Im talking about atheism/evolution

Thomas would have been so happy knowing his own words were used to create a monopoly of religion inside the public school system.

@ivlfounder Only you would turn it all around and think I said anything about a letter. I'm talking about you, you delusional fucking moron. Your total lack of comprehension skills is astounding. You are a delusional fucking moron.
@mikepiazz The 1st Amendment is explicitly clear that the government shall not establish a national religion--tacitly separate government from creation of a religion nor give a preferential accommodation to any, period. Nonetheless, it does not declare any restriction in selecting candidates base on their religion, but those elected officials cannot dictate their faith onto others. A perfect harmony of personal faith and freedom from government sanction religion. Now go have your raosted pizza.

Martin Sheen is a Catholic Christian himself. You don't have to be an atheist to favour the separation of church and state. Many Christians would be just as pissed at having some preacher using the government to tell us what to do.
