Mike Batt - Summertime City

The time when Mike showed he was far more massive than The Wombles, and hit the scene with this fantastic solo, back in 1975 - the first of the two amazingly hot summers we had.

His use of 'accidentals' in music/ballads is legendary. It's what sets a song apart - that one note, that 'makes it all.l

Since then, we have a lot of Mike, mainly through his fantastic songwriting qualities and his stunning use of 'accidentals' in his music. He is special, and very few can fail to identify one of Mike's songs, whether sung by Art Garfunkel, David Essex or otherwise.

Bring it on again Mike - we want more of your quality.

Despite the fact I am job hunting again, I felt on top of the world today. Lovely walk into town and there was real warmth in the sunshine. Five days until Spring, and the flowers are coming out at last. Clocks forward soon as well - bliss!!
