HP Data Accelerator Solution for Oracle

Data IO can be one of the biggest performance bottlenecks when working with Oracle databases (or any database) Connecting to a SAN provides distinct advantages from an infrastructure standpoint, but with a SAN connection, latency is measured in milliseconds, which translates to a performance hit in high transaction environments. The HP Data Accelerator Solution for Oracle, increases IO performance by using the PCI bus to put the storage for writes closer to the CPU. At Oracle Open World 2011, I spoke with Michael St-Jean about the HP Data Accelerator and how it improves Oracle database performance. With up to 12TB of high performance flash memory, the Data Accelerator improves IO on virtually any Oracle database configuration and can easily be used in combination with traditional SAN solutions for.
