I'm a Southerner, so I've got a few good suggestions for this neck of the woods (you'd be surprised how big the Korean community is here).
There's a whole glorious section of Atlanta, GA that's full of Korean restaurants and shops. You can barely find signs in English so keep your eyes peeled. Special shout-out to Mozart Bakery and Tomato.
Another good one is in Knoxville, TN (don't know why you'd be there, but if you ever are), Korea House has fantastic kimchi and bulgogi.

Koreans own an H&Y Market somewhere near where I live...forgot what city. It's a supermarket with focus on Korean stuff obviously. :-)
