@TedWms521 You must mean the Billie Holiday of the 1940s and '50s. In the '30s she was sensational and though Clooney had a fine voice it was Holiday whose sense of rhythm and her interpretive skills which influenced subsequent singers, including Sinatra. Shw as a far more original and complex voice than either Clooney or Garland.

@TedWms521 Agree, but clooney didn't sound like an addict like billy holiday... Don't get me wrong, love billie, but Clooney was pure and beautiful....
-
@Goomgam Oh - don't leave out Billie Holiday! or Ella Fitzgerald!
-
@jaytlr9 ...OMG... you're so right! I never thought of that, but, as soon as I saw your posting, I realized you're right, her singing is like fine wine, it gets better and smoother with age! RIP you dear sweet woman who brought joy and happiness to millions and millions of people for decades (ok, I hope you're happy, I'm in tears now LOL)

@jjdebaca Mercer wrote the words, but Schertzinger wrote the music, I believe.
-
Her singing only got better over the years.

For the great American songbook, Clooney is right up there with Sinatra and Garland.
