Hoffman Estates and Schaumburg cosponsored a Hi-Tech Manufacturing Career Day to highlight the industry's wonderful opportunities, and to challenge incorrect perceptions of manufacturing and precision tooling. High school districts 211 and 214 promoted the event to students as part of a career-expanding field trip. The Golden Corridor Manufacturing Group, municipalities and educational institutions (including Harper College, Elgin Community College and Northern Illinois University) will be planning these types of events annually to promote student interest in manufacturing and precision tooling where qualified workers are hard to find © Copyright 2011 Village of Hoffman Estates.
