This video shows techniques for getting better at separating your hands when playing piano. We're thinking outside the box here. I play a drumset in the left hand and a bass guitar in the right. It boils down to a test of hand independence and finger control.

You'll need a MIDI keyboard and a sequencer to pull this off, any DAW should work. Just load 2 instruments (one drumset, the other bass guitar) and adjust the Hi/Low keys on each to set the range. You may want to transpose the bass guitar down to octaves since you are playing high notes on the keyboard.

  • @arashazadimusic Hey! Not sure what you mean about right hand fingering. It is a five finger exercise going up and down, ignore the arpeggio at the end! hah! I split my keyboard using Reason. I think Kontakt can do it too, you just need to figure out how to set a low and high key for each instrument

  • Good dude very helpful but the right hand in piano trick is not really right i mean the first finger must go after the tree finger!any way!my question is how you seprate the Drum and bass in the Daw with your midi?you use Kontakt?what software?
