MoonFaker: Phil Plait, Mythbusters & Dirty Tricks. PART 5

For years, Bad Astronomy webmaster Phil Plait has dodged the following questions.

1. How can you allege that the idea that NASA and the government would murder their own astronauts is "a particularly loathsome accusation", when in fact the CIA's General William H. Craig came up with Operation Dirty Trick: a proposal to blame John Glenn's possible death aboard Friendship 7 on the Cubans and use his death to justify all out war?

2. How can you frequently allege that Bill Kaysing said "any kind of space travel is impossible", when in the exact same interview that you refer to Kaysing explicitly says "I will concede that certain unmanned vehicles might have made it to the moon. The Russians are supposed to have sent some unmanned vehicles to the moon. And possibly our Surveyor did land on the moon."?

3. How can you allege that there were no major solar flares during the Apollo missions when NOAA's Comprehensive Flare Index for Major Flares explicitly logs 30 major x-ray solar flares during the time eight of those missions were supposedly in cislunar space?

The only time they wore the gloves was when the suits were pressuirzed. The cinching was in the shoulders. The bruising occured only on the astronauts that utilized the hammer and or drill. Cernan, Schmitt, Young and Scott. No other moonwalkers had the bruising

@yesiamawizardjonny The moonwalkers were surrogate geologists extensively trained to gather and document scientific evidence. All this data has been extensively disseminated and scrutinized by thousands in the scientific community. After decades none have inferred a deception or that samples are counterfeit.

@yesiamawizardjonny I suspect hoax advocates are influenced by popular culture; i.e. films and television programs that feature subversive elements in the US Government as protagonist.

The Apollo missions were a Cold War victory. This was the inducement for the program.

@yesiamawizardjonny You are correct, the pressure gloves were minimally functional. Only the moonwalkers on the J missions had bruised fingers. This was because their activities were more extensive then the astronauts on prior missions. The rock hammers and core drills were utilized. This is why this bruising occured. The astronauts were lunar explorers engaged in strenuous activities. Once again this is inadvertant evidence of a lunar mission and not a contrived feature of a deception.
