The Wind" is a classic 1954 doo-wop by Nolan Strong & The Diablos.
The tune was recorded in a small family owned studio, with few mics and lots of eery reverb!
While this has been covered by various artist, this is the original.

  • The first Soul record to come out of Detroit , 5 years before Motown started up.

  • i almost forgot Clyde McPhatter and Frankie Lymon all admire Nolan Strong and Nolan admire Clyde McPhatter vocal style that how Smokey Robinson admire Nolan Strong and clyde McPhatter plus Frankie Lymon Jackie Wilson and Sam Cooke

  • Smokey shouldve covered both Nolan Strongs songs The Wind and Mind Over Matter because he had an early influence on Nolan Strong and his vocal style and Jackie Wilson too both are from Detroit Michigan

  • Smokey Robinson emulated these guys What a pure voice and The Jackson 5 would have done this song serious justice Nolan Strong has a more pure tenor than Smokey

  • Do you think Michael Jackson and his brothers could have made a good cover of this song?

  • One of my favorites

  • @nappyfreak92 HI. WHAT DID YOU FIND OUT??

  • The sweetness of the doowop.....Omg!! tune an a half

  • For Yeo Gen'o I remembe, your favorite song. LOVE YOU, REST IN PEACE

  • I was introduced to doo-wop music through my father, and this was one of his favorite songs. He said he got this just before he entered the USAF. Being a kid born in 1964, that falsetto voice of Nolan Strong reminded me of Michael Jackson.. Beautiful music..
