Well, he is the destructor form of Gozer, a Sumerian shape shifting god. When Gozer forced the Ghostbusters to choose a destructor form, Ray tried to think of something that could never possibly hurt them. Mr. Stay Puft. Then Gozer formed into a giant glob of densely packed marshmallow. And the rest is history. : )

I always liked the Marshmellow Man. Funny how in the cartoon, he sort of becomes the Ghostbusters' ally.

That Moment in the film will forever be one of my favorite scenes period!. Fighting him in the game was freaking awesome. But I don't remember the episode or context, he seemed stupid in the cartoon? He's not a ghost, he's the destroyer, a creation of a god. But there's nothing about him that indicates flight. And he was never captured in a trap he was gooyfied! All over Walter Peck!
