  • @rainblack11 Yes i'm actually on a different machine now, or basically a new one as intel graphics died, apple pulled it apart and replaced basically the whole logic board and cpu. after they did that i haven't noticed any more sounds. i think that i must have been something to do with how tight the case is done up... Basically the best advise i can give you is to not drag yourself down into the negativity/problems as if you do, they will drive you insane. and i'm speaking from experience here!

  • @b4bt you are right, i now am not gonna care bout the sound, the first few days when i heard the noise, it was like so heartbreaking, this machine causae me a bomb. its also my first apple, but now i just tell myself, its okay as long as its working well. thanks =)

  • Hi! I have the same machine, same problem. Seems to be some tension in the aluminium case or something. Mine makes the noise most clearly when off (or standby), upside down, when I touch the bottom of the case. Various locations around the middle of the case make various ping/ting/click sounds. Working with the machine on my lap is occasionaly quite annoying. Oh, and it's obviously not the hard drive, for those who might suggest so.

  • I HAVE EXACTLY THE SAME THING

  • Does the sound usually come from the left side of the machine? If so, could be just some dust stuck in between the fans. But if you hear a screeching sound, then it could be from the hard-drive coming into contact with the unibody chassis. In either case, I would go return it to apple, as it's not meant to have those kind of sounds. If this was helpful, then make sure to subscribe :D. Good luck!
