4x4x50 particles half cosine wave at base, k=1 (C++/python)

System of 4x4x50 particles, connected by undamped springs with k=1.

A half cosine wave is applied to the first layer (actually .5*(1-cos(t) ) is used), during the first 1/4th of the movie. After that it is forced to stay at the amplitude of the cosine.
