Tsukiji market (or Tsukiji shijo: 築地市場) is one of biggest market in Japan, especially famous for its fish market. It consists of the "inner" and the "outer" market. Inner market is where actual bidding is taken place, that starts as early as 3 or 4 am. Outer market is where there's a concentration of retailers, from groceries to butchers to fish market. Tsukiji market opens only during morning (till 12 to 1pm). Saturday is the busiest day of a week, and is the day which you can really feel the lively atmosphere of the market.
