Many skaters experience the problem of seized bearings due to rust. In this video I used a sonic cleaner to unseize my bearings. This is the same type of device shops use to clean jewellery and glasses.

It makes use of cavitation to shatter foreign objects on surfaces

In this part, you can see the rust actually being forced out of the bearings.

I left the bearings in there for about 5 minutes

  • did you put the bearings on the surface of the sonicator because if you did the bearings will damage the surface of the sonicator...

  • @Pacheco212

in that case, he can just put the sonicator into a bigger sonicator and clean it again!

  • @wildthingberry I think once a bearing is seized its hard to cause much more damage.

  • cool

  • @zensorship lol OK... :)

  • @Pacheco212

of course, you're right (in a serious sense) but I was just joking!

  • @zensorship No, because a sonicator will not clean or do something good to something that is scratched...It just removes seized things not Polish

  • It depends on the model, but for most models, you are correct. I would make a guess that over 90 percent of models are as you said.

  • can i use my guitar amplifier to make it vibrate?

  • Jaycar sells them...
