@kekada1000: Lara scored a 100 in 1996 QF against SAF & scored 60 in semis & another 100 vs SAF in 03. SRT cudnt win the 1996 semis by himself, failed in the 1999 all imp game against AUS at Oval, failed in 2003 finals & nothing in 2007. He scored in that 1 over in 03 WC but he has bn dismissed so many times by Shoaib. He has struggled against him, got hit on the head & any good batsman can drive a 155k half volley. It is more abt taking the challenge when the chin music is on wch he neva has!!

@maverick7597 , Lara's record in World Cup games was decent to say the least....Tendulkar took India single- handedly to 1996 WC semi finals and 2003 World Cup finals without the help of Sehwag and Dravid (who were not in good form)........

And as far as Tendulkar's ability to play quality pace. Try watching Sachin's 98 against Pak in 2003 WC, where he had played an on drive shot off 158 kmph yorker from Shoaib AKhtar, commentators were shocked.....How many batsmen have such guts?

@kingkhan2 : Agree with you totally. It is the ease with which he handled them & infact belted them on most occasions. At times without a helmet & never looked to survive hostile spells!! Fighting fire with fire, none better than Vivi Richards or Lara in the 90's. Teenda has failed many times in trying conditions but he had more concentration & consistency. But can't match the skill of the Caribbean Prince!! 1997 SAF 10 ODI's & 1999 AUS, 8 ODI's bowling was excellent & Teenda failed big time!!

SRT scored 2 hundys in last OZ tour & a 241 but on all these occasions check the team score & OZ bowling. 2string & every batsmen having a party but in hostile conditions he has the skill to survive but he cud neva dominate. Lara in a weak windies line up has scored hundreds when it mattered the most & the way in which he dominated the very best almost defies belief. 1990's no hundred for SRT in Windies but against a 2nd string windies bowling last tour, he belted them! Lara cud turn it on anytm

Lara was surely a step ahead purely becoz he was more confident in handling & actually dominating hostile bowling. e.g. 1993 SAF ODS's a hundred against SAF & PAK when both had a great bowling line, he belted every1 including 2 W's in their prime. I have neva seen SRT dominate Walsh, Ambrose, 2 W's, Donald or Mcgrath. Lara's scored 213, 153* & 100 against Mcgrath, Gillespie & Warne. Sachin cud only score 116 in Melb 1999 & no hundreds in 2004 India series against full OZ line up..Lara the Prince

I am not only a Tendulkar fan, but also a Lara fan. I started to watching cricket because of this two guys. I was just saying it hurts when people say sachin is a flat track bully, can't perform when matters, not good in important matches. With due to respect to lara, I looked up their stats in world cup and final matches and found sachin has much much better record than Lara. Lara's immortal innings of 153*, people say he is much much better match winner.
