@133ilovebreyers There are oils that can help a horse through their thick coats. My Fjord gets lineseed oil mixed through her food once every other day, at her evening meal, just a spoonfull (soupspoon size) - works wonders. Also, provide plenty of roughage (so lots of hay).

My fjords get in the morning 3 cups of sweet feed with a cup of corn oil, with a cup of ground flax, with a 1/3 cup of hoffmans mineral, mix this all 2gether in their bucket. 2 flakes of high High alfalfa hay and all the clean water they can drink. Lots of trotting and loping. The sweat/oils will help their coats to shine up, and being warm...healthy and in shape they may not grow such a long shaggy coat. Lots of trotting to tighten up that tummy. At night I feed the exact same. treats
